Description

We offer natural St. John's wort hydrolate for cosmetics, obtained from the plant Hypericum perforatum. In world trade, the product is offered to foreign partners under the name St. John's wort natural hydrolate for cosmetics. The flowers of the plant are used for the extraction, which also determines the pale palette of the finished distillate. The extraction is carried out with steam, so the liquid retains a pure aromatic line in which the herbal side stands ahead of the warm and the slightly sweet one. The species belongs to the Hypericaceae family, whose members bear glandular structures in their aerial mass and in their floral parts. The aroma remains mild in strength and stays within narrow limits without sharp nuances. The composition includes only water and volatile constituents from the flower mass, without added preservatives or colorants. Cultivation takes place on Bulgarian land under a natural regime. The translucent glands in the floral part form a cavity beneath the epidermis and retain the volatile fraction, whose constituents later become apparent in the aromatic picture of the distillate. The tone of the liquid remains in the range between colorless and pale yellow. In addition, the distillate is a clear liquid. Since the starting material comes entirely from the flowers, the light coloring of the liquid repeats the coloring of the raw material itself. Natural cultivation reduces the composition to the simplest possible picture, in which water and the volatile fraction of the flowers make up the entire content of the hydrolate. The small volatile content in the aqueous phase keeps the aromatic strength at a mild level throughout the entire aromatic profile. Herbal warmth and a light sweet finish form the aromatic picture of the liquid, while the other nuances have no perceptible part in the character of the scent. The finished distillate combines a light tone, mild strength and herbal warmth in a clear and light form.
